Trouble Shooting Tips

Quick Trouble Shooting Steps

Here are some quick trouble shooting tips to identify basic power issues

Check Power Source

Ensure the cradle or charging cable is securely plugged into both the device and a working AC power outlet.

Reset the Scanner

Remove the MC55 from the cradle and re-insert it firmly. Ensure it seats completely into the charging contacts.

Clean the Contacts

Inspect the gold metal contacts on both the bottom of the device and inside the charger for dirt or corrosion. If necessary, clean them with a dry, lint-free cloth.

Verify Battery Installation

Ensure the battery is properly latched. On the MC55, the battery should be inserted bottom-first and pressed until the latch clicks.
Test with Another Battery
If you have a spare, try charging it to rule out a faulty battery.
Test with Another cradle

If you have another cradle available to test if the problem stays with the device or the charger.
